Athens-Clarke County Library Welcomes Margaret Agner on April 23
ATHENS, Ga. – Learn about the amazing wonders of silk painting during “The Silk Road: The Art of Margaret Agner” at the Athens-Clarke County Library on Thursday, April 27.  

Margaret Agner, an Athens artist, will deliver a slide talk on the art of silk painting, accompanied by a live demonstration of her technique. The lecture will be joined by an exhibition focusing on Agner’s beautiful and delicate images of flowers and butterflies.  

Agner has been painting on silk for over 30 years, and makes wearable art as well as wall hangings. Her magnificent pieces can be seen around town at Lyndon House Arts Center, Aurum, The Chappelle Gallery, the State Botanical Gardens of Georgia, and many others places.  

‘The Silk Road: The Art of Margaret Agner” lecture begins at 7:00 p.m. in Multipurpose Room A. The exhibition of Agner’s work may be seen in the Quiet Gallery, on the second floor of the Library, following the lecture through Sunday, May 24.
